Meet the experts behind our company


Chris Williams


Chris Williams is the Founder and CEO of Merritt Anderson, Cane Creek Stone, and Cane Creek Sod headquartered in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Chris also owns and manages expansive conventional agricultural and cattle operations in Southeast Missouri, Northeast Arkansas, and West Tennessee. Chris has an extensive background in conservation, resource stewardship, and land management with experience in the implementation of various conservation practices including water conservation, erosion control, precision agriculture, drone technology, native grassland restoration, and wetland habitat restoration in accordance with Conservation Security programs through the US Department of Agriculture. Chris has served as Chairman of the U.S. Rice Producers Association, Chairman of the Missouri Water Shed Protection Board, Missouri Rice Research and Promotion Board and many others. Chris was also involved in the first wetland mitigation bank in the United States that was used as a model for other wetland mitigation footprints throughout the country. Chris received a Business Administration degree at Lyon College in Batesville Arkansas where he played basketball. He currently resides in Poplar Bluff Missouri.

Austin Williams


Austin Williams is the Co-Founder and Vice President of Merritt Anderson and Cane Creek Stone. In addition to leading operations at Cane Creek Stone, Williams also owns and manages Williams Earth Company which provides certified borrow fill material to the Missouri Department of Transportation and the Missouri Department of Conservation’s construction projects. Williams has been involved in developing local infrastructure projects such as overpasses, highway construction, and rail spur design. He is a certified Department of Transportation Aggregate Technician, and head of Mineral Exploration at Cane Creek Stone. Williams earned his degree from Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, Missouri. He and his wife, Lauren live in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and are active members of Westside Church of God.

Parker Williams


Parker is currently Vice President of Merritt Anderson and Cane Creek Sod. 
Upon completion of his undergraduate degree Parker returned to the family agribusiness in southeast Missouri. During this time he oversaw and integrated numerous precision agricultural practices and conservation stewardship initiatives in order to increase efficiency, sustainability, and profitability. In this role Parker designed and developed agricultural landscapes including water control structures, land correction and development for agricultural, ecological and soil management purposes. In 2013 Parker co-founded Southland Irrigation, which designed, sold, and installed precision irrigation solutions for agricultural and municipal use. Parker specialized in designing and installing integrated systems using center-pivot irrigation, variable rate technologies, remote pumping stations and web-based telemetry for remote monitoring and control in order to conserve water resources, increase efficiency and lower usage costs. Parker earned a Bachelor of Biblical Literature degree with a specialization in Psychology and Counseling from Ozark Christian College in Joplin Missouri and is currently completing a Masters of Theology and Anglican Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. Parker is the Director of Community and Discipleship at Westside Church of God, Junior Warden at Holy Cross Episcopal Church and is a member of the advisory board of directors at US Bank. Parker and his wife Lindsey, daughter Charlotte, and son Samuel live in Poplar Bluff Missouri.
